The Greek government is digesting the unexpected result of the US elections, which is particularly inopportune for Athens as the current US President Barack Obama is due to visit Greece next week.
The coalition had pointed to Obama’s visit on November 15 as a sign of the international backing that Greece is receiving in its quest for debt relief and recognition for its role in dealing with the refugee crisis.
