Budget passed as govt pins hopes on vaccine rollout to get economy on track

The 2021 budget was passed through Parliament on Tuesday night after five days of intense debate, allowing the government to now focus on the coronavirus vaccination programme that it hopes will be a catalyst for the economic recovery it expects next year.
New Democracy’s economic plan was passed with the votes of all its 158 MPs as all the opposition lawmakers voted against the budget, as expected.
