The government has succeeded in passing another raft of reforms to the education system despite stiff opposition from minority parliamentary parties and teachers’ unions.

The legislation which passed on Wednesday introduces changes to the governance of primary and secondary schools, including the regular performance evaluation of teachers, as well as provisions for the restructuring of universities.
