Lafazanis out of blocks early, announces anti-bailout party ahead of bailout vote

The leader of SYRIZA’s Left Platform, Panayiotis Lafazanis, got out of the blocks early on Thursday as he announced the creation of an anti-bailout party several hours before Parliament was due to vote on the third bailout.
In a statement signed by 11 other SYRIZA members but not high-profile MPs, Lafazanis and his colleagues called for a national movement to oppose the latest memorandum of understanding with international lenders.
