Jan primary surplus beats target due to 1.7-bln-euro underspend
The budget primary balance was confirmed at a surplus of 3.51 billion euros for January 2026, compared to a surplus of 1.98 billion euros a year earlier, according to the final Finance Ministry (MoF) budget execution data released on Wednesday.
The primary balance in January was 1.76 billion euros above the target.
