Parties in Greece are preparing to do battle, as New Democracy’s long-anticipated labour bill looks set to be tabled for debate in Parliament after Greek Easter in early May.

The legislation, which the government touts as a modernising reform for the benefit of both workers and employers, has united the parties of the left in opposition to what they see as a threat to workers’ rights and earnings.
