Greece extends territorial waters in Ionian, hopes for deal with Albania

The last week of 2020 saw Greece moving ahead with the enforcement of its decision to extend its territorial waters to 12 nautical miles in the Ionian Sea.
The presidential decree on the closing of bays and drawing of straight baselines in the maritime area of the Ionian and the Ionian islands up to Cape Tenaro in the Peloponnese was published in the Government Gazette.
