Greece and Germany seek to bridge gaps in strategic convergence
The meeting between Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis and his German counterpart Johann Wadephul in Athens on Monday offered an opportunity for both sides to reflect on the current state of Greek–German relations, which are marked by strategic convergence but also persistent divergences in priorities.
Both countries appear aligned in their assessment that the European Union must become more effective, cohesive and capable of acting decisively in an increasingly unstable geopolitical environment.
