Athens buoyed by EU, US support over maritime spat with Turkey

Athens appears satisfied with the stance taken by the European Union in support of Greek positions on the Turkey–Libya maritime border deal.

A common statement adopted by the EU leaders during their summit in Brussels on Thursday and Friday rejects the deal as “invalid” and insists that the accord interferes with the rights of other countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea.
