Turkey closes borders, Greece keeps up pressure

Ankara decided on Wednesday to close its borders with Greece and Bulgaria in an attempt to slow the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

In Athens, diplomatic sources claim that such measures could possibly and temporarily lead to a reduction of the tension seen over the last couple of weeks, following Ankara’s decision to wave refugees and migrants towards the Greek-Turkish borders.
