Loosening of restrictions on expat vote fails to secure Parliament's approval

A government-sponsored amendment to the electoral law aimed lifting the restrictions on Greek citizens voting remotely has failed to gather the 200 votes required in Parliament.

The result has been painted as an embarrassing defeat for the government by opposition SYRIZA, however ND have presented it as a moral victory in the battle for the centrist vote.
