Parties gear up for confrontation over labour bill

The government’s proposed labour reforms will be at the heart of a political battle in Greece this week as the draft law moves to Parliament’s full assembly ahead of a vote that is likely to take place on Wednesday.

Last week’s general strike has added to the tension over the bill and reports suggest that the opposition parties are likely to be strident in their criticism of the measures, which seek to create a more flexible working schedule, among others.
