The government appears to be focussing most of its efforts on addressing the impact of inflation, and therefore minimising any political impact it might have, as it believes that the threat from the pandemic is waning.
Getting over these twin menaces could set New Democracy up for a trouble-free run to the next general elections, which are scheduled for the summer of 2023. On the way, the conservatives would hope to be buoyed by the continuing economic recovery.
