Government attempts to offer reassurance against winter energy shortages

Greece is well placed to manage interruptions to natural gas supplies in the coming months, according to Energy Minister Kostas Skrekas, who chaired a crisis meeting with senior figures in the energy sector on Monday.

The message of reassurance came as several countries across Europe placed themselves on heightened alert for the prospect of Russia completely shutting off gas supplies.
