New Democracy decides on date for leadership vote, candidates get on the road
New Democracy has decided to hold its leadership election on Sunday November 22, with a run-off vote between the two leading candidates (if needed) due to take place a week later, on November 29.
The dates are later than had been expected. Current leader Evangelos Meimarakis had initially proposed holding the vote in October, while ex-Administrative Reform Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had proposed mid-November.
