Murder the result of Golden Dawn acting with impunity and targeting working class neighbourhoods
As tragic as the murder of 34-year-old hip-hop artist Pavlos Fyssas - known as Killah P - was, it hardly came as a surprise after months of neofascist Golden Dawn stepping up its presence on Greek streets and becoming emboldened by authorities’ reluctance to address its violent behaviour decisively.
Fyssas was not Golden Dawn’s first victim. The far right party has been linked to at least two more fatal attacks on immigrants and numerous beatings of leftists and homosexuals, as well as migrants, over the last few years.
