Deaths continue to outpace births in latest demographic warning

Breaking down the data, ELSTAT showed that in 2018, live births fell by 2.4 percent compared to 2017, coming to 86,440 births versus 88,553.

Stillbirths came to 335 in 2018, declining by 7.7 percent compared to 2017.
